Welcome to our website. 1st Wroughton Scout Group has three sections, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, and we also host Cynric Explorer Unit for young people aged 14-18.

As part of the Scout Association, we have a clear purpose:

To help young people achieve their full physical,
intellectual, social and spiritual potential as
individuals, as responsible citizens and as Members of
their local, national and international communities
.

Our method for giving young people the opportunity to learn by doing is called the balanced programme. Throughout their time in our Group young people will learn by taking part in a variety of new activities and experiences, exploring the outdoors, participating in teams, playing games, and taking responsibility.

We were formed in 1928 and have occupied our present Hall on Weirside Avenue since 1953.  There are 80 young people in our Group, from Wroughton and the surrounding villages.

Most of our sections have to operate waiting lists but we are always looking for volunteers to help us offer Scouting to as many young people as possible.
